Adele Says Michaela Coel's New Series Is The Best British TV Show In Years

Adele is loving Michaela Coel's new HBO series, I May Destroy You.

On Monday (June 15), the pop titan took to Instagram to share a promo photo of the British actor with some high praise for the new series. "I May Destroy You is the best thing I’ve seen on British TV for yeaaaarssss!! Go watch it on iplayer right now,” she wrote. "It's wholesome, uncomfortable, hilarious but terribly sad and then awkward...and then it makes you cough a bit for no reason and also makes you go put the kettle on, for no reason."

The star went on to add more humor to her kind message, writing, "You might pretend you need a pee and then you get a bit itchy, then it makes you ask your girls things you haven’t before. And then makes you want to run out in the street and laugh so hard like mad til you cry for absolute hours!"

“I've never felt so many emotions at once!” she continued of the 12-episode series, adding that the actress "bloody SMASHED it."

In case you haven't heard of I May Destroy You, the series follows a young woman named Arabella (Coel), who has trouble remembering the events of a particular night out with friends. As she begins to recount the evening, she realizes that she was drugged and taken advantage of during the fuzzy outing.
