In case you haven't been following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's every move over the past few years, you may have missed the news that a new biography about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex is set to be released in August. Finding Freedom: Harry, Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family will take readers inside Harry and Meghan's life leading up to their decision to step down from their roles within the Royal Family.
While the focus of the biography is, of course, Harry and Meghan, a new report from The Sun claims palace aides fear other members of the House of Windsor could be painted in a bad light. According to an inside source, they're especially worried about Prince William's reputation.
The aides reportedly fear that Duke of Cambridge could be “painted as the bad guy" in Finding Freedom. “They are worried William especially will be portrayed in a bad light," the source said. "This sort of family spat shouldn’t be out there in public. This shouldn’t happen to future monarchs. The book could be the most damaging thing to the Royal Family since Princess Diana’s interview on Panorama with Martin Bashir."
Aides are worried the Sussexes' biographers, royal reporters Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durandaim, will "somehow paint [William] as an unfeeling baddie against kind and philanthropic Harry and Meghan." According to The Sun, the words "unsympathetic, unfeeling and unsupportive" are being used to describe the book by aides, however, "no one knows exactly what’s in it.”
According to Finding Freedom's publisher Harper Collins, the biography aims to tell the "true story" of Harry and Meghan, as well dispel "the many rumors and misconceptions that plague the couple on both sides of the pond."
