Sacramento rapper Bris has died at the age of 24.

According to multiple outlets, police officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Franklin Boulevard and Fruitridge Road early Sunday morning. Once on the scene, officers found Bris, born Christopher Treadwell, who had sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Sacramento police said.

The emerging rapper's death comes just one week after the release of the music video for his new single “Need Hammy.” As fans know, Bris' career was just taking off following the release of his 2019 breakout single “Panhandling,” which has garnered nearly 1.9 million views on YouTube since its release last August.

While Bris' career was put on pause in late 2019 after a brief stint behind bars, he was released earlier this year and began dropping music soon after. He had planned to release his mixtape Tricky Dance Moves in April, but pushed back the project due to COVID-19 and instead released “Need Hammy” last Tuesday (June 16).

Rest in peace, Bris.
