We might still be stuck in quarantine, but that didn't stop Halsey and Marshmello from filming a music video for their collaborative single "Be Kind."
The colorful visuals star a pink-haired Halsey dancing her way through three distinct worlds: the drab "real world," a cityscape showered with cherry blossom petals, and a fantastical garden. Unsurprisingly, her moves are flawless during the clip; however, the singer recently divulged that she not only learned the choreography via FaceTime, but her ankle was also broken while filming.
"I’ll tell u guys more about it soon but this video was wild to create," she tweeted over the weekend. "Learning choreo on FaceTime, then I broke my ankle, we used a Bolt camera so it was all programmed beforehand so there wasn’t a human physically operating it, the team that rendered the worlds. It was wild!"
In a series of tweets, the pop star also revealed that it took 12 hours to shoot the video, and the aesthetic was based off "my favorite place to run away to in my head" — Japan during Sakura season.
The clip was directed by Hannah Lux Davis, who also helmed Halsey's "Alone" and "Nightmare" visuals.
