Miranda Lambert And Husband Brendan Rescue Tiny Kitten Near Texas Highway

Miranda Lambert's love for animals has officially rubbed off on her husband, Brendan McLoughlin.

Over the weekend, the country star turned to Instagram to share a photo of an adorable stray kitten she and her husband rescued near a highway in Texas. Lambert explained in the caption how her husband was actually the one who noticed the kitten and decided to turn around.

"Two lane highway in Texas, speed limit 70. Brendan slows down and does a U-turn," Lambert writes, as she recalled asking her husband, "Why are you turning around?"

"There’s a kitten in the road and I knew you would kill me if I saw it and didn’t stop," Brendan told her. "Well I guess the rescue ways are rubbing off on him. 👏👏," Lambert added before going on to share a few more details about their road trip home.

"We stopped at mom and dads on the way home," she writes. "Dad has a new bestie. This kitten rode 9 hours back to Nashville with us and 3 dogs and was such a champ. He is 4-5 weeks old and weighs 14 Ounces. 💙😻. Y’all welcome Tequila the kitten to the family!"

Tequila's rescue appears to be at the end of a recent road trip. Last month, the couple revealed their plans to travel across the country in their new 2020 Airstream Globetrotter.

"Just because I can’t travel and play shows doesn’t mean I can’t travel and make music," she said at the time.

The first part of their trip was from Nashville to New York. The couple made several stops along the way in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

"It was a nice change of pace. Something about the highway is calming, and at the same time keeps you completely focused," she shared, adding that she likes "to drive a lot because most of my adult life I’ve been driven around on a tour bus to play music."

Fans can stay up to date on Lambert's exciting adventures on the road with her husband Brendan on her Instagram page.

Sunday thoughts. When people ask me questions about all the traveling I’ve done , my answer is pretty much the same every time. “ I’ve been everywhere but I haven’t seen much of anything. “ I’ve been touring for 19 years and most times we just roll in , play our show , and roll to the next town. I’ve only gotten to spend some real time in a few of the places I’ve been. After spending these last few months at home ( a much needed break and time to nest❤️) I realized something. Just because I can’t travel and play shows doesn’t mean I can’t travel and make music. I have the most amazing travel companion, my husband , and we decided to add a family member. Y’all Meet “The Sheriff . “ A 2020 Airstream Globetrotter. ( thanks @rocketcityrv ) I’ve been a vintage trailer collector for years and this is my very first new one. I’m letting go of a few vintage to make room for adventure in this silver gem! I don’t like change but I’m learning to embrace it. Until I get get back on Elvira and tour, I’ll be pulling this rig all over the country. I know that seeing the world through the windshield again will bring creative vibes. #highwayvagabonds #livinlikehippies #BandMetour

Hey y’all. Just an update on glamp life. We spent the last week taking #TheSherrif on his first road trip. We camped our way to see our NY family. 6 days: 4 states: 1000 miles. Nashville to Pigeon Forge TN... Virgina to PA and then NY. It was a nice change of pace. Something about the highway is calming, and at the same time keeps you completely focused. I like to drive a lot because most of my adult life I’ve been driven around on a tour bus to play music ( which I love and miss terribly... obvs @db102681 ). B drives too and is the best navigator. We can set up camp in under 10 minutes once we pull in. Took a few times but we worked out the kinks. One of my favorite things on this trip was making dads classic recipe “campfire casserole” in our Dutch Oven on the camp fire coals! Of course we had to face time Rick Lambert to make sure we knew the tricks of the trade, but Brendan has cooking anything in this cast iron down to an art now. Here are some highlights from maiden voyage!! Stay tuned for more! (PS first pic is me celebrating because I backed the trailer into the camp site. 🤠) #theresanewsheriffintown #B&MeTour #airstreamlife #glamping @red55winery @idyllwind @airstream_inc @lodgecastiron @kampgroundsofamerica
