Ty Dolla $ign recruited Kanye West, FKA twigs and Skrillex for his latest bop.

This week, Ty unveiled a new collaborative jam from his forthcoming album, Dream House, titled “Ego Death.” True to its name, the record sees the LA-born singer-songwriter and Chi-Town lyricist trading raps about different transformative experiences.

Whereas Ty rhymes of overcoming bad habits and breakups (“Murdered my ego when you walked away/ It hurt my ego when you walked away/ Gave you my all, that wouldn't make you stay”), Ye blesses the track with verses that convey a politically-charged meaning. “All these admirations, likes, and false validations/ Feeding to our ego, talk for somethin', negro,” Ye raps. “One in four get locked up, your girlfriend get knocked up/ Plan B was they Plan A, to lower the count of our families/ To lower the count on our damn votes.”

Hovering over the Skrillex’s signature booming production, twigs enters just before the track’s finale with delicate vocals intertwining with a sample from Queen Latifah’s “Dance For Me.”

“‘Ego Death’ is a very special record. It’s always an honor working with my brother ’Ye. He’s a genius and we make incredible records every single time we link up,” Ty told Pitchfork of the project. “Skrillex and twigs came in and blessed us with the magic that only they can put on the record. I played it once at a house party and everyone went crazy.”
