On Tuesday (July 14), Meghan Markle participated in the Girl Up Women in Leadership Event. Since the event was virtual, Meghan recorded her impassioned speech from home. Fans of the Duchess of Sussex quickly noticed her new hairstyle, as well, which she debuted in her rare public appearance.

It didn't take long until those who tuned into the Duchess' speech were complimenting her new long hair and glowing skin on social media. “She’s such a good speaker,. Her hair has grown soo much. Leaving the UK really did wonders for her mind, body and soul," one of Meghan's supporters shared. While another chimed in saying the Duchess “looks beautiful in blue. Her hair looks like velvet! Wow! Gorgeous.”

In addition to showing off her new hair cut, the Duchess of Sussex shared a powerful message about fighting for equality, as well as how the digital world factors into that fight. "I think it’s important to acknowledge the paradox of how this progress is both aided and impaired by our digital space. Your generation is often referred to as digital natives, and you understand that our online world has the power to affirm and support as much as it does to harm, but we are not meant to be breaking each other down; we are meant to be building each other up," Meghan said.

"So use your voices both on-and-offline to do just that—build each other up, support each other. There will always be negative voices and sometimes those voices can appear to be outsized, and sometimes they can appear to be painfully loud," she continued. "You can and will use your own voices to drown out the noise. Because that’s what it is—it is just noise. But your voices are those of truth. And hope. And your voices can and should be much louder."

Meghan told her audience that humanity "desperately" needs them right now. “To push it, to push us, forcefully in a more inclusive, more just, and more empathetic direction and to not only frame the debate, but be in charge of the debate — on racial justice, gender, climate change, mental health and wellbeing, on civic engagement, on public service, on so much more. That’s the work you’re already out there doing," she said.

While they're out changing the world, Meghan promised that she "will be cheering you on, so will my husband and so will Archie."
