Carrie Underwood Officially Announces First Holiday Album, 'My Gift'

Carrie Underwood will bring a little extra joy to the 2020 holiday season with the release of her new Christmas album, My Gift. The country superstar announced on Monday (July 20) that the new project will officially arrive on September 25, 2020.

“I’ve always wanted to make a Christmas album and it’s been a long time coming," Underwood shared in a press release. "I knew this would be my next music project after wrapping my tour last year, and I think it’s turned out to be the perfect time for an album like this, in this period of such personal and spiritual reflection. For me, it’s more important than ever to focus on the true meaning of Christmas in a project like this. Even though it has been a tough year for all of us, sometimes I feel like the greatest realizations can be inspired by the most difficult times, and make us more grateful for the things we do have and for what truly matters."

The album was produced by Greg Wells, who's best known for album by Adele, Celine Dion and The Greatest Showman soundtrack. Additionally, Underwood worked with David Campbell, who led the orchestra accompanying her on the project.

Although the country star has previously recorded several Christmas songs, My Gift marks her first full-length holiday album. The project will feature several holiday classics as well as some entirely new material. The album's full track listing, songwriters and special guests will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Pre-orders of the My Gift CD, with exclusive merchandise, are available here. Fans can also pick up the record on vinyl beginning October 30, with pre-orders beginning soon.
