Can you believe Prince George is already 7-years-old? Kate Middleton and Prince William's oldest child celebrated his birthday on Wednesday (July 22). In honor of Prince George's special day, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared two new photos of their son with the world.
"Sharing a [photo] taken by The Duchess ahead of Prince George’s seventh birthday tomorrow," Kensington Palace captioned the first new photo of the young royal, which the account shared on Tuesday (July 21).
As a way of thanking the public for their outpouring well wishes and birthday messages for Prince George, William and Kate shared another photo of George to mark his birthday. "Thank you everyone for your very kind wishes on Prince George’s birthday today!" the caption reads.
A source close to the Cambridge family spoke to Vanity Fair's royal reporter Katie Nicholl about the young prince's birthday, as well, leading Nicholls to write that she "wouldn’t be surprised if his birthday has a football theme. George is football crazy and actually a very good player. " The now 7-year-old prince "plays for a local team and Will and Kate are often there to cheer him on."
A friend of the family also told Nicholls that George "loves being outdoors." The Cambridges enjoy spending time together at their country estate so George and his siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, are able to get outside more. "They all love being in Norfolk and William and Kate would love to live there full time if they could," the source said.
