50 Cent's business ventures continue to flourish.
On Monday (July 27), the rap titan took to social media to announce that his TV empire is heading to Netflix. Sharing a photo of the streaming platform's logo, the star teased an upcoming project by appropriately name-checking his roster of successful shows. "Coming soon! I mean i’m coming wait a minute! you already know, #1 STARZ POWER, #1 ABC FORLIFE now what you want to Bet i do it again at NetFlix," he wrote.
As you know, 50 Cent is one of the key players behind Starz' Power and ABC's For Life. While the former wrapped up a six season run, the latter was recently renewed for a second season. On top of that, Power Book II: Ghost, the first of four Power spinoffs, is set to premiere on Starz in September. The series will pick up with the aftermath of Ghost's murder. Spoiler alert: His own son Tariq was behind the job, but Tasha took the fall for it. The show will feature Michael Rainey Jr., Naturi Naughton, and Mary J. Blige.
Power creator Courtney Kemp recently opened up about the decision to create multiple spinoffs, admitting that they're taking a page from the realm of superheroes. "We are patterning it after Marvel, where different characters come in and out of other people’s shows," Kemp told EW in February. "So there’s crossovers and some of your favorite characters will come back, even if they don’t get their own spin-off, they will show up in places. We’re trying to really do it for the fans, to give the most of what they want."
