The 2020 Emmy Nominations are out!

July 28, 2020

The nominations for the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards were announced today so that means we can use words like 'snub!' Other than talking about award shows, when else do you get to use a word like 'snub?'

Anyway this is a big year for many streaming platforms like Netflix, which picked up a whopping 160 nominations. Newer services like Disney+ and Apple TV+ also got in the mix. This year's announcement was little strange since it had to be done virtually. Saturday Night Live actress Leslie Jones stood alone in a studio while actors Laverne Cox, Josh Gad, and Tatiana Maslany chimed in via Zoom or whatever service they were using to read the nominations.

This year's Emmy Awards show is supposed to happen Sunday September 20th on ABC and will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel again. How they are going to do the show remains to be seen.

Entertainment reporter Jason Nathnson fired up the old hot tub for his latest report and ran down some of the nominations with us. Let's see who made the cut and who got snubbed!
