Doja Cat opened up about her battle with COVID-19.
Last night, the “Say So” singer, whose real name is Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, took to Twitter to answer fans’ questions about her experience with the potentially deadly disease. When asked if she still had coronavirus, the musician responded, “not anymore.”
In response to another user asking her to share her experience with the virus, Doja detailed some bizarre symptoms, saying, “I couldn’t taste bacon and my legs hurt.” To add, the 24-year-old said while she did not suffer any respiratory problems she did have a fever for two days.
“Are you scared of it now?” someone else asked, to which the “Rules” rapper replied, “Never was. Thats why I got it in the first place.”
Doja first revealed she’d contracted the disease during an interview with Capital XTRA last Friday. “Honestly, I don’t know how this happens but I guess I ordered something off of Postmates," she joked. "I don’t know how I got it but I got it. … I’m okay now. It was a four-day symptom freak out but I’m fine now.”
Prior to falling ill with the disease, Doja mocked the severity of COVID-19, even likening the novel virus to a flu and even then maintained she wasn’t afraid of pandemic life. “I’m gonna get corona and then I’m gonna get a Corona, cause I don’t give a f—k about corona, b—h,” she said on Instagram back then. “It’s a flu! Ya’ll are p—sies."
Since June, the CDC has listed the following symptoms may be associated with COVID-19: fever or chills, coughing, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, loss of taste or smell, and a sore throat.
