Kim Kardashian is trying to mask her children amid from the drama surrounding their father Kanye West.
PEOPLE reported on Tuesday (July 28) that Kardashian and the rest of the family are doing what they can to keep a normal environment. "She is shielding the kids. All of her family is. They've circled around the kids and are insulating them from all of this," an insider revealed to the celebrity gossip outlet. "And everyone else has decided to create an atmosphere of normalcy around them."
According to the source, the four children, North, 7, Saint, 4, Chicago, 2, and Psalm, 14 months, "don't need to see such a public meltdown."
As of recently, Kardashian was spotted in Cody, Wyoming for a reunion with West after a number of public troubles. It was a move that reportedly required convincing from Justin Bieber. She has since returned to Los Angeles one day after her visit. The appearance comes after the rapper's presidential rally, Twitter rants and the E! star's public statement on his bipolar disorder. Since lashing out, the former has publicly apologized for the outbursts. "I would like to apologize to my wife Kim for going public with something that was a private matter. I did not cover her like she has covered me," the rapper tweeted on Saturday. "To Kim I want to say I know I hurt you. Please forgive me. Thank you for always being there for me."
Despite the apology, the Kardashians/Jenners are keeping West’s mental health at the top of their list of priorities. "Kim and the family are happy to see Kanye apologize, but at the end of the day the most important thing for them is Kanye getting the help he needs," an insider revealed to Entertainment Tonight. "Kanye said hurtful things to Kim and the family and in time that will heal, but Kanye’s health is priority. Since Kanye hasn’t been responsive to Kim and her family's attempt to help him, they are hoping this public olive branch is a start for him in allowing Kim to help."
