Luke Bryan is getting ready for the release of his new album Born Here, Live Here, Die Here on Friday, August 7. Fans have been anxiously awaiting the project, which was originally scheduled for release on April 24 but postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The album's title track, released earlier this year in February, is an ode to small town life. In a recent interview, Bryan revealed the story behind "Born Here, Live Here Die Here" with fans.
"The song just paints such a beautiful picture of rural life and a rural mindset. Every line in that song just tells that small town life and it talks to that person that is proud of that small town life,” Bryan explained of the song. "They don’t need to go look for anywhere else, they’re happy, they’re content, they got everything they want right there and there’s something really really special about those types of people. The second I heard the song it just felt so real for me and it told a story, a big story in my life cause there was many many years I was that guy. It was gonna be Born There, Live There and never leaves. Somehow I left and become a country music singer and I still love to sing about those topics."
When the song was first released Bryan explained to People how he felt the lyrics related to him. "The second I heard ‘Born Here Live Here Die Here’ it related to me- how I grew up, how I have so many roots and so many ties to my hometown, and being tied to your hometown is very important in country music," he said. "I fell in love with the song right away and now we have an album and tour derived from this song — it’s pretty amazing."
In addition to the title track, Bryan has also already released "Knockin' Boots," "What She Wants Tonight," "Build Me A Daddy" and his current single "One Margarita."
Born Here, Live Here, Die Here is Bryan's first record since 2017's What Makes You Country. The album will drop next Friday, August 7. Stay tuned!
