Luke Bryan and his wife Caroline Bryan had a big weekend as the two sent their nephew Til off to college. To mark the occasion, Caroline turned to Instagram to share a photo of herself giving a goodbye hug to Til alongside a touching message.
"I left a big piece of my heart today in Georgia," Caroline captioned the photo. "Been dreading this day for years, but I guess it’s time for Til to fly. Still can’t handle it right now! Good luck in college my sweet boy. 💛"
Sweet comments from friends, family and followers poured in. "He will do great!! I know you are going to miss him terribly! Love you," one comment read. "Til, sending you all of the best for a successful first year of college!!! Proud of you," Cassie Kelley, wife of Lady A member Charles Kelley, said.
Luke also added a comment himself, writing, "I keep looking to see if his truck is parked next to mine," with a crying face emoji.
The Bryans adopted Til when he was just 13 years old after Luke's sister, Kelly, died in 2007 and his brother-in-law, Ben, passed away in 2015. They also looked after Til's two older sisters throughout the years.
In a previous interview, Caroline explained that Kelly died unexpectedly and Ben suffered a massive heart attack in front of her and Til. "That was the other worst day of our life. So Til moved in with us immediately," Caroline shared at the time. "The girls [Til's older sisters Jordan and Kris] are back and forth constantly, they're still in college. And then we lost our niece Brett when she was seven months."
Throughout his teenage years, Til and Luke got really close as they frequently enjoyed hunting and fishing together. In a recent birthday post for Luke, Til referred to him as his "best friend" in a sweet message.
"Happy birthday to my hunting, fishing partner, and best friend!" Til wrote to accompany the photos. "Hope today’s a good one 44’s just a number love you."
Caroline and Luke also share two sons together, Bo and Tate.
