Tom Morello, Josh Homme, Bruce Springsteen Set To Play Joe Strummer Tribute

Rock & Roll wouldn't be what it is today without Joe Strummer and The Clash, and a star-studded lineup is coming together to pay tribute to the late musician through testimonials and performances on August 21, which would have been his 68th birthday.
Tom Morello, Bruce Springsteen, and Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme are just a few of the big names set to participate in A Song for Joe: Celebrating the Life of Joe Strummer, which will also feature never before seen footage of The Clash singer/guitarist. The livestream event will double as a benefit for Save Our Stages — an initiative created to help independent music venues survive the coronavirus pandemic.
“To see so many musicians and artists come forward to honor Joe is really touching," his wife Lucinda Tait said in a statement. "Community was always important to him. Whether it was playing music with friends, organizing all night campfires, or hijacking festivals, Joe was always focused on bringing people together. Even though we can’t all be in the same room together, I cannot think of a better way for us all to feel united. Joe would have loved this.”
The two-hour event is set to air August 21 at 3pm EST and will be available for free at joestrummer.com. See the full A Song For Joe lineup below.
