Lake Clearwater.

An 18-year-old woman drowned after rescuing several children who were struggling in deep water near a dam in Sinclair Township, Minnesota. The children were swimming in the river, which had been higher than normal due to recent rains, when they got caught up in the churning water coming over the edge of the dam.

The woman jumped into the water to help and managed to pull the kids to the shore. When first responders arrived, bystanders were performing CPR on the young woman but were unable to save her. They said they managed to resuscitate an eight-year-old girl who was unconscious when she was dragged out of the water.

Witnesses told paramedics the woman spent about ten minutes in the water rescuing several children.

Officials have not released her identity and did not provide details about the children she rescued or their condition.
