Luke Bryan To Return To 'American Idol' Season Four

It's official! Country music superstar, Luke Bryan is set to return as a judge on Season 4 of ABC's American Idol. The "One Margarita" singer will be joined by Katy Perry and Lionel Richie once again at the judging table, while Ryan Seacrest returns as host.
"American Idol has always been able to bring people together, entertain and inspire — and I am so proud of how this show continued to deliver joy and laughter into people’s homes during a time when we needed it the most," ABC Entertainment President Karey Burke said in a statement. "There is no one who we feel more confident about leading us into a new season of high notes than Luke, Katy, Lionel and the incomparable Ryan Seacrest."
"Katy, Lionel and Luke are fun, astute and really know how to spot talent," added executive producer and showrunner Trish Kinane. "Their chemistry is undeniable, and we are delighted that they, along with host Ryan Seacrest, are returning to find the next superstar and take ‘American Idol’ to new heights next season."
After the news was announced, Bryan shared his excitement for the new season with fans on social media.
"Here we go! Season 4 of @AmericanIdol is going to be awesome! So glad to be back with my buddies @RyanSeacrest, @katyperry, and @LionelRichie!" he wrote, adding "If you think you’re #TheNextIdol, audition online or face-to-face virtually with a producer! Choose your state day or show up to our nationwide open call on August 25th!"
Currently, the show is hosting "Idol Across America" virtual, remote auditions in all 50 states across the country. Fans can visit the official website here to learn more information.
American Idol will return to ABC in the spring of 2021.
