Netflix made an exciting announcement on Friday (August 20) that Stranger Things fans won't want to miss. The streaming platform is bringing Hawkins, Indiana to life with a special Stranger Things-themed haunted house. Stranger Things: The Drive-Thru Experience will take guests through safe, socially distant recreations of Hawkins creepiest spots this October.
According to a press release from Netflix, the Stranger Things“Drive Into” Experience is based on the hit show's most recent season third season. For a quick refresher on the third season, Eleven, Mike and the rest of the Hawkins gang spent the majority of the third season fighting monsters in the Starcourt Mall and exploring a subterranean Russian lab. The drive-thru haunted house will take guests through one-hour long immersive, multi-level experience. In addition to seeing the recreated sets, the haunted house will also feature a live theater component with actors playing various roles from the show.
"Buckle up like Billy is driving, keep your eyes on the neon lights, and steer clear of the shadows because there's no telling who or what you might come across in Downtown Los Angeles this October. Whatever you do, don't get out of your car," Greg Lombardo, head of experiences at Netflix, said of the experience in a statement.
Tickets for the Los Angeles-based Stranger Things haunted house start at $59 per car and will be available for purchase starting August 26. As of now, there's no reports on whether Netflix plans to expand this unique installment in other cities.
