Update (8/28): Roddy just joined forces with Cordae on a new song titled "Gifted" — listen above.

Roddy Ricch's next album could be coming sooner than we think.

Even though he’s still ranking high on the charts, the LA rapper revealed his sophomore effort to follow 2019’s Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial is coming down the pipeline. Roddy teased the drop this week while on vacation in Cabo, hopping on Instagram Live to announce new material would be on the way.

“Album coming soon as f—k,” the 22-year-old said in a clip of him hanging out in the pool. However, Roddy may have been joshing us, as he added, “Aye man, n—a still number 3 on the motherf—ing Billboard. I gotta give myself some time."

The teaser is consistent with what he told GQ earlier this month, stating he’d already amassed more than enough songs to put another LP together if he wished to. "Could I drop a new album right now? Yes. Will I? No," Roddy said in the profile.

As the young star explained, he’s going to bide his time on the effort for as long as it takes. "It’s really not about it being ready or not ready. It’s more about the timing," he added. "I really just drop when I feel like it. The next album is going to be a full-blown masterpiece. A real idea. A real body of work."

Roddy’s debut project released to high acclaim in December 2019. The record spawned a number of popular singles, including “Big Stepper,” “Start wit Me,” “Tip Toe,” and of course, “The Box,” which became the highest-charting song of his career, peaking at the number-one spot on the Billboard Hot 100.

Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial as an entire project was just as successful, as it debuted at No. 1 and held the top spot for four non-consecutive weeks.
