The Austin Food + Wine Festival will no longer take place in 2020. In a post on social media, the festival revealed that it wants to honor local public health orders and in doing so, the festival is canceled for this year.
The post to social media stated, "We hoped to continue our annual tradition of celebrating great food, wine and friends but given the extension of Austin's stay-at-home order until December, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year's festival."
The festival said that those with tickets will get information about refund options from Front Gate Tickets within 24 hours. There will also be options to roll 2020 tickets over to the 2021 festival, donate the value of the ticket to the Austin Food & Wine Alliance, or donate the value of the ticket to a non-profit partner that provides critical support to the culinary community in Central Texas.
The post on Facebook urges members of the community to continue supporting the local culinary community by ordering to-go from local restaurants and dining-in where possible.
The festival is has been rescheduled to take place for its 10th anniversary November 5-7, 2021.
