Detroit is one of Dave Chappelleβs favorite cities.
The stand-up comedian explained his connection with the city in a story on Big Seanβs new album Detroit 2, released Thursday night (September 3). The album ends a three-year hiatus since the Detroit native's last studio album, I Decided.
Big Sean released the track list of his fifth album on Instagram on Wednesday (September 2), featuring collaborations with Eminem, Post Malone, Lil Wayne, Travis Scott and others, with stories by Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu and Chappelle. That was one of several teases Big Sean posted before the album release, including hinting at a deluxe version.
Chappelle recalled a show at the Fillmore he predicted heβd βbomb.β
Still, he expressed appreciation for the city and its fans.
βThereβs never been a single timeβ¦not a one, that Iβve ever been to Detroit, where it wasnβt some kind of adventure,β Chappelle said, calling Detroit one of his "favorite" cities to perform comedy in.
