The 41st annual Detroit Jazz Festival is coming up in full swing but it's going virtual this year because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The 2020 edition of the event is offering ways to catch it live on social media and local stations.

The nonprofit Jazz Festival Foundation "has celebrated Detroit’s rich history of jazz music by providing year-round concerts and educational programming, and of course, organizing the world’s largest free jazz festival, featuring world-class talent, over Labor Day weekend," according to the Detroit Jazz Festival.

Founded in 1980, the festival includes more than 60 performances each year.

This year, the Detroit Jazz Festival will be held Friday (September 4) through Monday (September 7).

Organizers posted a packed lineup, including hometown artists like Gayelynn McKinney & McKinney Zone, Tartarsauce Traditional Jazz Band, Beartrap, Walter White Big Band, the Curtis Taylor Quartet and more.

Fans can catch performances on Facebook Live, YouTube, Instagram, WDET 101.9 FM, WEMU 89.1 FM and Detroit A&E Channel 22, with some performances also on Detroit Public Television and WRCJ 90.9.
