President Trump Holds News Conference At The White House On Labor Day

President Donald Trump will be making his third visit to North Carolina in three weeks on Tuesday.

Trump is scheduled to make a stop in Winston-Salem Tuesday night, which will mark his first North Carolina campaign rally since the COVID-19 pandemic began, WXII NBC 12 reports. The president made previous stops in Charlotte for the Republican National Convention and Asheville to meet with North Carolina farmers hours later last month.

Trump also visited Wilmington to declare it as a World War II "Heritage City" last Wednesday, the Associated Press reports. The president is expected to arrive at Smith Reynolds Regional Airport at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, according to WXII NBC 12.

The Trump campaign has issued a warning due to concerns over the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, according to an invitation obtained by WRAL.

"By registering for this event, you understand and expressly acknowledge that an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. In attending the event, you and any guests voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure toCOVID-19, and waive, release and discharge Donald J. Trump for President," the invitation states.

The Secret Service is reportedly working with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office and the Winston-Salem Police Department ahead of the president's visit on Tuesday, WFMY CBS News 2 reports.

According to WFMY, several road closures have been announced, including all lanes of traffic on Liberty Street between 28th Street and Glenn Avenue, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Traffic will be routed away from Smith Reynolds Airport ahead of Trump's arrival and drivers are asked to use alternate routes.

Doors will open to the public at 4:00 p.m., however, the event website promoting ticket sales has not confirmed how many people will be allowed to attend. WFMY will be streaming the campaign rally at 7:00 p.m. on its YouTube page, on its WFMY News 2 mobile app and on its website.
