How much are you willing to spend to recreate the feeling of a football stadium at home? If you answered "way too much money," AT&T Stadium has you covered.
The Dallas Cowboys are offering fans a taste of the their home field by selling game day food to people who will be watching the kickoff from their couches. Fans can place an order for pick up or delivery prior to game day through their AT&T Stadium At Home site.
That isn't too strange since the Texas Rangers offer something similar. But the weird thing about AT&T Stadium's menu are the prices. No one is going to a pro sporting event for cheap eats, but paying $105 for two dozen "scratch baked cookies" is a little eyebrow raising.
For $75, you can share the "ultimate nachos" with four to six of your closest friends. If you want to wash that down with a cowboyrita, it'll cost $45 for a quart - or about $11.25 a serving. That's about on par with what you'd pay at the stadium, but the real head scratchers are the "roster add-ons."
Two pounds of spicy roasted peanuts will run you $50.00. For another $65, you can get two pounds - or 32 oz. - of peanut M&Ms. To put these prices into perspective, a 38 oz. party-sized bag of peanut M&Ms are $8.98 at Walmart. The Cowboys are selling M&Ms at a 745% markup.
If you're feeling really fancy, you can pay $80 for 32 oz. for roasted cashews or just buy them at a grocery store for $14.12.
