Brad Paisley Hilariously Reworks His Hit Songs With Carrie Underwood's Help

Brad Paisley got to show off his comedic talents as he took over as the guest host of ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday night (September 9). To kick off the occasion, Paisley hilariously reimagined some of his biggest hits, and even surprised viewers with a special guest, Carrie Underwood.

Paisley's new tunes, dubbed "Brad Paisley's Greatest Hits - The 2020 Editions," make light of the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. To start, the singer went back to one of his earlier hits, "I'm Gonna Miss Her," which poked fun at host, Jimmy Kimmel. "Well I love him, but he left to fish / Jimmy took the summer off and now I'm at the desk / And I don't miss him, not one bit," Paisley sings."'Cause tonight we've got a great show and some funny, funny s— / Take a break from the mean tweets, the awkward beats / And lame jokes about Donald Trump / It's the Brad Paisley live show, oh lookie there a ratings bump."

For his next tune of the night, Paisley reimagined "Alcohol," his hit song from 2005. "This is the new and improved 2020 version of my song 'Alcohol,'" Paisley said before diving into the new version, mentioning Dr. Anthony Fauci in the opening lines. "And since the day we first heard from Fauci / That gravelly-voiced McDreamy hunk / We've been wipin' down groceries / Hoardin' the Charmin / And pretty much constantly drunk," Paisley sings.

Next up Paisley performed a new version of "Letter To Me," which was followed by a surprise virtual performance from Underwood for their 2011 hit duet, "Remind Me." While the original finds the two singing about a relationship, the new rendition tells a story about social distancing amid the pandemic. "Before social distancing / Only wear a mask on Halloween / Remind me," Underwood sang.
