'Is This Your Pops?' Man In 'Dad Outfit' Steals Records From DFW Bookstore

There's a mad dad on the loose in the DFW suburbs.

He may not actually be a father, but a guy with major dad vibes walked out of a Southlake Barnes & Noble without paying for $220 worth of records on Monday evening, and it was all caught on security camera.

It's not the crime of century, but the Southlake Department of Public Safety decided to have some fun describing the khaki-wearing criminal in the hopes that someone will snitch on their pops.

"Was he wearing the dad outfit like our bad guy in these photos? When he loafed up (put on his loafers) and said he’d be back in a bit, was he wearing a sky blue t-shirt tucked into khaki cargo shorts? And not just any khaki cargo shorts, friends. BELTED KHAKI CARGO SHORTS."

A bookstore employee was able to get a photo of the man riding off into the rain on a motorcycle that didn't have a license plate.

The cargo-shorts caper has a varied taste in music. He took records by Duke Ellington, KISS, John Coltrane, Nirvana, and the Stranger Things soundtrack. Much to the delight of the Southlake social media person, the thief also made off with Jason Mraz's "We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things."

DPS dubbed the man the "Vinyl Vandal" since he allegedly done the same thing at other area Barnes & Noble locations. This record theft is a misdemeanor B, according to DPS, but the real crime is tucking a t-shirt into cargo shorts.
