Lil Nas X is getting ready to release more tunes.

After dominating 2019, the Grammy-winning rapper is looking forward to returning with new music soon. He teased as much on Twitter on Thursday (September 10) when he joked that the money he’d earned from his record-breaking earworm “Old Town Road” was beginning to dry up.

“Gonna start back releasing music soon,” he tweeted, “the old town road money running out.”

Although it’s hard to believe the 21-year-old already blown through the wads of cash he’s made from one of the biggest songs in contemporary music, the prospect of the “Panini” star dropping new tunes is not. To be honest, we couldn’t think of a better person to deliver the pick-me-up anthem 2020 has been in dire need of.

Following up on his promise to bring back the bops, Lil Nas X also announced two new songs his fans can expect to hear soon as well as on his new album, titled “Don’t Want It” and “Titanic.” In a series of Twitter exchanges with fans, Lil Nas X confirmed both records will be on the LP, however, the former song won’t be the first single.

In 2019, the country rap star was the most-nominated male artist at the Grammy Awards that year, scoring nominations for Best Music Video and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Old Town Road.” What's more, the No. 1 record achieved the unthinkable when it beat Mariah Carey’s long-standing record after breaking its 17th week on the Hot 100 chart in July 2019, surpassing Carey and Boyz II Men's "One Sweet Day,” which sat at No. 1 for 16 weeks from December 1995 to March 1996.

We say all this to say, we can’t wait to see what Lil Nas X pulls out of his cowboy hat next.
