A rally was held outside the office of United States Postmaster General Louis DeJoy's home in Greensboro on Friday morning.

A group of about two dozen individuals joined the protest held by the organization Sunrise Greensboro, which includes students from UNC Chapel Hill and members of the American Postal Worker's Union, WGHP FOX 8 reports.

DeJoy, a noted major donor and fundraiser of Republican politicians, was appointed to postmaster general and CEO of the USPS in May 2020 by the USPS Board of Governors, all of whom were selected by President Donald Trump and confirmed by the United States Senate. Critics have complained of a conflict of interest regarding DeJoy's appointment, as well as concerns over how he's handled the job since taking over.

“It’s about the fact that everything he’s touched since he’s been postmaster general has turned into crap, especially the postal service under his tutelage,” said Richard Kortiz, a member of the American Postal Workers Union, via FOX 8.

Protesters said they worry DeJoy is putting votes at risk in the upcoming presidential election, as well as the jobs of many USPS employees. FOX 8's Lindsay Tuman reports some protesters held signs that displayed, "Stop dismantling democracy," "Dejoy doesn't deliver," "Fund the post office," and "Protect votes" outside DeJoy's Nottingham Road home.

The protesters marched away from the home just before 8:00 a.m., FOX 8 reports.
