Like so many other creatives this year, the Stranger Things crew was forced to delay filming Season 4 in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. Thankfully, Joe Keery (aka Steve Harrington) has another project to keep him busy in quarantine. Last year, the actor released his debut album Twenty Twenty under the moniker Djo, and this week he shared his first single of 2020, the aptly titled "Keep Your Head Up." The song picks up where the album left off; however, Keery added a flare of funk to his signature psych sound to give a much needed lift from the heaviness the world has shared this year.
Though his sophomore album has yet to be announced, a press release promises this "is the first of much more new music to come." Listen to "Keep Your Head Up" below.
Though the filming delay is unfortunate for Stranger Things fans, the show's creators, the Duffer Brothers, have found an upside to it: They've been able to suss out the story and hone in on the scripts, and during a recent interview they assured the upcoming season won't be the last.
"Season four won't be the end," Ross Duffer told The Hollywood Reporter. "We know what the end is, and we know when it is. [The pandemic] has given us time to look ahead, figure out what is best for the show. Starting to fill that out gave us a better idea of how long we need to tell that story."
"For the first time, we have all the scripts written and we're able to look at it as a whole piece and make adjustments," Matt Duffer added.
Netflix also recently announced a Stranger Things themed drive through haunted house that will be hitting Los Angeles this fall.
