A 70-year-old man was beaten after asking a man, who wasn't wearing a face mask, to social distance in a gas station near Orlando, Associated Press (AP) reported on Monday (September 14).

Last Tuesday (September 8) around 7:30 p.m., a 70-year-old man and 24-year-old Rovester Ingram were arguing inside a Citgo gas station in Winter Park, according to an Orange County arrest affidavit.

After the older man paid for his items and went outside, Ingram followed him outside and began punching and kicking the man, the report said.

"The man went back inside the gas station, and Ingram punched him again, grabbed him by the hair and dragged him back outside where the beating continued, the Orlando Sentinel reported," AP reported.

Ingram left the scene with another man after the incident, according to the report.

"Winter Park police confirmed the victim’s account through eyewitness accounts and security footage. They found Ingram at his house, the report said," AP said.

The report also said authorities found Ingram at his house. Ingram was charged with kidnapping and inflicting bodily harm and aggravated battery, according to court records.

The 70-year-old was hospitalized for treatment, but there hasn't been an update on his condition.
