Texas' Oldest Dance Hall Reopens, But Dancing Isn't Allowed

It's time to dust of your boots because Texas' oldest dance hall is open for business.
Gruene Hall in New Braunfels reopened on September 6 after it closed in June to comply with a state mandate that shut down bars to reduce to spread of COVID-19. But dancing hasn't returned to the hall just yet.
The hall is hosting live music events, but the inside dance floor is closed due to the pandemic. Instead, spaced out tables now cover the dance floor. People inside have to remain seated during shows, but they move around freely in the outside beer garden. That majority of the shows are free. For shows requiring tickets, the hall is only selling tables that sit up to six people. Jack Ingram played a sold out acoustic show on Saturday, but the hall's upcoming schedule is subject to change.
Like always, it's cash only, but musicians are foregoing actual tip jars for virtual ones. Don't forget your mask if you head that way.
