A man claimed a BMW dealership in South Florida wrecked his car and tried to hide the details of the accident, Local 10 reported on Tuesday (September 15).
Oscar Medina said he purchased a BMW M4 convertible in May from South Motors BMW. In August, he brought the car into the dealership for service.
“A week later, I don’t have any calls from these people,” Medina said. “I go to the dealer, like, what’s up with my car? It’s been a week.”
The dealership then told Medina, "Thank god that you came because we got a little incident with the vehicle.”
That "little incident" was actually a major accident, according to Local 10.
"According to the crash report, his car rear-ended another car, causing a chain reaction crash," the website reported. "Local 10 pulled the driver’s record. As of Sept. 9 of this year, the man has a suspended driver’s license along with a history of tickets and traffic violations."
Medina also found out that someone filed a claim on his insurance.
“So basically, after a week, they didn’t even fix the window, and they took it for a drive-test,” said Medina.
Repairs were also made to Medina's vehicle after the crash, but they did not ask for his permission. The service director at the dealership told Medina "someone verbally authorized the repairs to his car over the phone," Local 10 reported.
“I never gave authorization to fix it,” Medina said. “They never give me the choice to choose where I want my vehicle to be fixed.”
According to Local 10, the manager was asked if the person responsible for crashing Medina's car was still employed at the dealership; they would not say.
“They don’t want to give me the truth,” Medina said. “They’re hiding everything from day one.”
