A taco truck near Houston, Texas, turned into an overnight success thanks to a tweet from the owner's daughter.
Like other small businesses right now, Taqueria El Torito in Humble has been struggling due to the pandemic. Giselle Aviles would ask her dad, Elias Aviles, how business went on a daily basis, she told CNN, and was heartbroken when he told her that he made $6 one day.
To help out her dad, Aviles sent out a tweet Saturday to promote the taqueria. With help from taco lovers and small business supporters, the tweet took off and lines started forming outside the taco truck.
Hey Twitter!! I wouldn’t normally do this, but my dad’s taco truck business is struggling, he only sold $6 today. If you could retweet, I would appreciate you so much!! 💕

Business has been so successful for Elias Aviles for the past few days that he has had to shut his truck down early because he's been running out of food. Before it was only her father who worked on the taco truck, but now Giselle Aviles has joined the family business to help her father take orders.
Locals are sharing photos of giant burritos and tortas the bought at the truck, while people in North Carolina, Oklahoma, and California have been drooling over the photos and asking the family business to branch out.
"We are overwhelmed with joy from all the response and support we've been receiving. It's amazing what social media can do!!" Aviles wrote on Twitter on Tuesday.
