While the 2020 iHeartRadio Music Festival looked a little different this year, one thing remained the same: your favorite artists put on quite the show!
For Kane Brown's performance on Saturday (September 19), the country singer hit the iHeart stage, which featured a virtual Capital One Fan Wall, in an all black outfit that he capped off with a dark flannel and a baseball cap that featured the word "mirage."
The 26-year-old singer-songwriter treated fans to a number of his beloved hits, including "What if's," "BFE," "Cool Again," "One Thing," "Worship You," and "Worldwide Beautiful," to name a few. Kane capped off his killer set with his latest collab "Be Like That" with Khalid and Swae Lee by his side, well virtually that is, via a new innovative technology PORTL. While the trio weren't in the same room — Kane was in Nashville, and Khalid and Swae were in other cities — they still brought the energy and made the "new normal" of virtual collaborative performances look quite easy and fun!
Following his set, Kane spoke with Chicago's BIG 95.5's Brooke Taylor about getting used to this "new normal."
"I got started on social media. As much as I love being in front of the fans, I love this [new normal] too. It's great for me regardless," he admitted. "[The performance] was fun! [...] The fans looked super excited and were clapping the whole time. I'm just happy that iHeart decided to do this even though what's going on. I'm excited to just be a part of it."
Kane also revealed how the "Be Like That" collab came to be. "We got Swae Lee for [the song] because one of the writers on it is good buddies with him and Swae jumped on it," he explained. "I told Khalid that I wanted to do a song with him again because we had 'Saturday Nights,' which is a remix he already had out. So I told him, 'Man, what if we did a song, like imagine how big it would be if it wasn't already out. If it wasn't already a remix. It was just a brand new song.' So we got him on it, but it was super hard because he was in like Tokyo, Japan and we literally got him the last day he was supposed to be on the song. So, it was amazing it worked out."
The country crooner added, "Both [Khalid and Swae Lee] are my guys. It was my first time meeting Swae Lee at the music video. We all just got super buzzed a little bit and it was such a fun music video that I didn't want to leave. [...] If you watch the video you can tell how much fun we're having."
In case you missed it, or just want to re-live all of the epic performances from this year’s iHeartRadio Music Festival, tune in to the two-night highlights special on The CW on September 27 and 28 from 8-10pm ET/PT.
