Body Of Missing Juvenile Found In Virginia River Following Police Chase

The body of a missing Virginia juvenile was reportedly found in James River following a police chase Tuesday morning.
Virginia State Police confirmed the body was located in the 4300 block of Deepwater Terminal Road, WAVY reports. State police and local crews form Chesterfield and Richmond conducted an overnight search for several juveniles involved in the James River area after a crash on I-95 Tuesday night, specifically focusing on the area of the river behind the Philip Morris building, WAVY reports.
A trooper's radar clocked a 2013 Honda Civic at a speed of 101 MPH and the trooper attempted a traffic stop, VSP confirmed via WAVY. The Honda reportedly sped off as the trooper approached and took the Bells Road exit before crashing.
Five juveniles reportedly fled the scene, WAVY reports. The car was reported as stolen out of Richmond.
A juvenile female was arrested shortly after the crash, police confirmed to WAVY. One female and four males inside at the time of the accident.
Virginia State Police said troopers searched by air and land for the other four juveniles involved in the crash. Three of the minors were located in the water near Deepwater Terminal Road by a tracking K9 at around 2:23 a.m.
VSP said the juveniles were encouraged by troopers to come out of the river for their own safety, WAVY reports. Two complied, but one refused and the trooper reportedly lost sight of the third juvenile in the water.
The body was reportedly found just before 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday and has since been taken to the Medical Examiner's office to for identification and autopsy, WAVY reports. The fourth missing juvenile was reportedly found at 6:40 a.m. in the woods off Deepwater Terminal Road.
Police confirmed that all juveniles involved in the incident have been turned over to their legal guardians, WAVY reports.
The investigation is ongoing.
