It's been 46 years since 17-year-old Carla Walker was killed, but Fort Worth police may have cracked the case.

Police arrested Glen Samuel McCurley on Monday in connection to Walker's murder, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported. The 77-year-old man is being held at the Tarrant County Jail on a $100,000 bond, according to the jail's website.

Walker was last seen on February 17, 1974, in the parking lot of a Fort Worth bowling alley with her boyfriend. They were in her boyfriend's car when her boyfriend was knocked unconscious and Walker was kidnapped. Her body was found three days later in a culvert near Benbrook Lake. Police said that she was tortured, raped, and beaten before she was killed.

Walker was a student at Western Hills High School at the time of her death.

Police found McCurley through DNA evidence recovered from Walker's clothes earlier this year. Forensic genealogy research narrowed the search to three brothers named McCurley, NBC DFW reported.

McCurley was questioned during the initial investigation in 1974, but detectives didn't pursue McCurley until the DNA match. McCurley told police that he didn't know Walker or kill her when they interviewed him earlier this month.
