Lane Frame, a 12-year-old boy from Manchester, went missing Monday after he was swept off a pier into Lake Michigan. Rescue teams have faced bad weather conditions since Monday and were forced to end their search efforts early on Tuesday. Authorities are now calling this a recovery operation.

According to WSMV, 14 members of the family traveled from Tennessee to upper Michigan for a vacation on Saturday. While on a trip to the Frankfort North Pier, a wave crashed over the pier and knocked Lane and his aunt into the water. While she was able to make it out, Lane was not.

Local police in Michigan as well as sheriff's offices and the U.S. Coast Guard have been searching the water, WKRN reports. Though they had to suspend operation Tuesday, divers returned to the lake Wednesday to continue looking for Lane.

"We thank you for all the support and everything everybody has done," Jewell Frame, Lane's uncle, told WSMV. "Please be praying that we find our baby and I know it's a tragic thing. I mean things happen for a reason so just keep us in your prayers."

A GoFundMe has been set up to provide the family with funds for lodging, food, and other things they may need during the recovery efforts. As of Wednesday, it has raised over $10,000.
