Big Sean's rap inspiration comes from lyricists from past and present.

During a lengthy conversation with Fat Joe via Instagram Live, the Detroit MC shared his list of top five favorite rappers of all time. The ranking included the late Notorious B.I.G., along with Eminem, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, and JAY-Z. Sean, who is hot off the release of his latest album, Detroit 2, admitted that he could easily expand the list to a total of 10 acts and include the likes of Rakim, Nas, Tupac, Snoop Dogg and OutKast.

The rapper also showed some appreciation for Fat Joe himself. "You being one of the most inspiring MCs to me and one of my favorites because of not just the impact you’ve had but the longevity too," he explained. "You defied the odds and I think that’s a true testament of your character."

When Sean made mention of Em, Fat Joe confessed that he recently received a call from Slim Shady, urging him not to retire from the game. “I’m like, 'Yo, this is all I ever wanted my whole life, for one of the rap gods like Eminem to call me and tell me, ‘Joe, you nice. You need to get back in there.' I couldn’t believe it," he continued.
