Absentee ballots will be placed in the mail to Michigan voters today (September 24).
Voters can also cast ballots in person at their county clerks office beginning today, according to WXYZ. There are more than 700 absentee ballot drop-off locations statewide, for voters who would prefer dropping ballots off than mailing them in.
Officials expect the November election to draw a record number of votes by mail in Michigan, as with the May and August elections this year.
Any registered voter has the option to request an absentee ballot in Michigan, per the new voting procedures passed in 2018, Local 4 noted.
Though ballots will be mailed Thursday (September 24), residents can still submit requests for mail-in ballots to their local clerkâs office through 5 p.m. on October 30, the Friday before the election. Those registered at their current address can also request a mail-in ballot in person through 4 p.m. on November 2, the day before the election.
Completed absentee ballots must be received by 8 p.m. on November 3, Local 4 reported.
