Throughout American homes, pizza is always a go-to whenever deciding what to eat. To help narrow down your choices, one website has compiled a list of favorite pizza joints around the country.
Two New Orleans pizzerias earned a spot on The Daily Meal's "Top 101 Best Pizzas in America" list. Read on to see more about the local businesses receiving national attention.
Coming in at Number 78 is Pizza Delicious. Started by college roommates Mike and Greg, the native New Yorkers bonded over their love of pizza and the lack of options around their school. With no background in restaurants, they taught themselves how to make the pizza they would want to eat. Once they started selling their creations, word began to spread and Pizza Delicious grew from a small, weekly pop-up to its very own restaurant.
Pizza Delicious serves a variety of New York-style slices, including the hot soppressata and vegan vodka sauce. If you're looking for something to eat other than pizza, try some of their pasta dishes like shrimp scampi and chicken marsala. They also have prepared foods like sauces, dressings, and fresh pasta for customers to take home.
Fans can also show their love for "Pizza D" with shirts, hats, and other merch available in store and online.
Pepperoni Ray's Cafe was named the Number 62 best pizza in the country. By offering daily combos and family specials, this New Orleans pizza joint has something for everyone. From crawfish bread and loaded fries to Caesar salads and hot wings, Pepperoni Ray's Cafe is a one-stop shop for you dining needs.
The Daily Meal recommends trying the BBQ chicken pizza, with bell peppers and onions, and the Big Easy, with pepperoni, Canadian bacon, Italian sausage, bacon, olives, mushrooms, onions, and bell peppers. They also suggest trying the wings, which some say are the best in the city.
