A man allegedly handed a handwritten note to a cashier at a Miami Gardens Walgreens before robbing the store, according to NBC Miami on Friday (September 25). The note said, "I have a gun, please follow orders."

"At least he's polite," Judge Mindy Glazer said in Miami-Dade court Friday.

Cedrick Hill, 23, went into the Walgreens on NW 183rd Street around 8 a.m. Thursday, according to prosecutors. He allegedly handed the note to the cashier and told her he wanted the money in the register.

According to an arrest affidavit, a coworker opened the register when the cashier couldn't. Hill then took the cash out of the drawer and fled the store, officials said.

Police officers were called to the scene and stopped Hill around the corner from the Walgreen.

"They found a large amount of cash in his front pocket, along with the note," according to NBC Miami.

The court found no evidence that Hill had a gun at the time of the robbery, despite what the note said.

The 23-year-old was charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony. Even though his bond totaled $17,500, he was on probation and violated the terms with this new case.

"He can't bond out just yet and may be facing additional charges," NBC Miami reported.
