The pandemic has definitely contributed to many cancellations all across the globe this year. However, COVID-19 cannot dim the lights at the Phoenix Zoo this holiday season.

ZooLights this year will feature even more event nights, an earlier start date, and a new path.

ZooLights supervisor Justin Davis told 12 News that a crew of four has been slowly working since June to transform the zoo and prep for the upcoming event.

"You just know that the end result is what you want so you just push through it, because you know families are going to come out here and you know they're going to enjoy it," he said.

Due to the pandemic, Davis says that they're doing everything that they can to ensure the attraction stays open for the public to enjoy.

There are plans for both a walking path and a drive-thru section so that visitors can remain socially distanced from one another. In addition, there will be more nights open to enjoy the lights.

"We're actually opened until the end of January, so the longer run time and bigger footprint of ZooLights, you can kind of plan it accordingly and keep yourself socially distanced form one another," Davis stated.

Tickets for the event go on sale on October 1st.

ZooLights will kick off on November 7th.
