A website has reportedly been issued a cease and desist letter by the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC).

The letter accuses CaskCartel.com of violating state law by making illegal shipments of liquor on September 18, FOX 17 News reports. TABC said it ran an undercover operation into the website's business process which discovered Cask Cartel was "able to order and receive the illegal shipments of liquor through an online transaction facilitated by the company's website."

“There are several illegal businesses that have developed sophisticated web presences and market products to consumers in Tennessee," Russell Thomas, TABC director, said. "These websites appear to consumers to be a legitimate business, yet no matter how polished their website is or how much money they spend on internet advertising, they are operating illegally.”

The Law Enforcement section of the TABC under the direction of the Chief Law Enforcement Officer consists of 38 special agents assigned throughout the state of Tennessee with primary responsibility of enforcing the state's liquor laws, according to TN.gov.

Enforcement of the state's liquor laws is the main responsibility of the TABC's law enforcement section.

The TBAC issues several alcoholic beverages related licenses to qualified applicants. The TABC jurisdiction covers alcoholic beverages with 8% or greater alcohol content by weight.
