The Dallas Zoo has welcomed in a new Gorilla to the family. Asha is a 17-year-old female who is being referred to as a "strong female role model for our little ones", and is coming from the Cincinnati Zoo.

The zoo made the announcement about Asha'a arrival Wednesday on Facebook.

According to the post, Asha is the older sister of Megan, another female Gorilla at the Dallas Zoo. Both of the girls were born at Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville, Texas to the same mother and father. Asha is two-and-a-half years older than Megan.

The zoo says that Asha will be a strong female leader and a great role model.

The post stated, "Asha is joining our family troop to be another strong female role model for our little ones, Saambili and Mbani, as they grow up. She has just arrived in the gorilla building behind the scenes after clearing her 30-day-quarantine and will meet the rest of the family this week before venturing out into the habitat for the first time."

The zoo says that they will update the public about when they will be able to come and meet her.

WELCOME ASHA: Our family troop is expanding! We’re thrilled to welcome 17-year-old Asha, who comes to us from the Cincinnati Zoo. Her former keepers tell us that she is an incredibly smart, socially savvy adult female and a very confident and strong leader. Also, she is Megan’s older sister!
