Chris Janson is paying tribute to all of the hard-working men and women across America in his brand new music video for his song "Waitin' On 5."
The video was filmed (at a social distance) at the Highland Speedway in Greenbrier, Tennessee, and directed by Sam Siske, the visual features Janson's father, who takes on his real-life role as an auto body painter, and father-in-law.
In a statement, Chris explained of his new music video, “I have so much respect for the hardworking men and women in this country. I am proud to count members of my own family, like my dad and father-in-law, among them. This song and the video are my way of honoring what they and so many others do every day – and encouraging them to have a little fun when the job is done!”
He added in a video on YouTube, "That was a title that was brought to me by some friends of mine. And as soon as I heard it, I thought, well, that's probably a hit. And man, I was right in the middle of writing this album. And basically it's just waiting on five to start on six, which could mean multiple things waiting on five o'clock to roll around, to get started on six o'clock or to get started on a six pack or however you want to envision it. But it's just for any nine to five-er out there, man, who works a day job and is in the grind of life and wants to take some time off and enjoy it."
"Waitin' On 5" is featured on Janson's 2019 Real Friends album, which also features his songs "Good Vibes," "Done" and the title track, which features Blake Shelton.
Fans can see Janson playing live (safely) as he is currently performing during drive-in shows across the country. Check out his official website for tour dates. Chris is also set to return to the Grande Ole Opry to celebrate its 95th birthday on October 17th.
