3 Tennessee Cities Make 'Top 100 Places To Live' List

Three Tennessee cities were listed among the nation's best places to live, according to a new list.
Livability.com released its "2020 Top 100 Best Places To Live" list, which includes Franklin (No. 52), Murfreesboro (No. 95) and Knoxville (No. 96).
Livability set a ranking criteria to include each of the following categories:
- Amenities- Cities have to get the basic rights in order to be a great place to live such varied and affordable housing, low crime rates, a strong economy and accessible quality health care.
- Demographics- Cities that have a variety of people and jobs.
- Economy- Having a strong economy means a city can invest in all of the infrastructure, amenities, schools and health care to make it livable.
- Health Care- Livable communities are healthy communities.
- Social and Civic Capital- Great people and culture.
- Transportation and Infrastructure- How traffic and daily commute affect livability.
Franklin received the highest LIV score among Tennessee cities with a total of 708. Livability credited Franklin for being "the quintessential Southern town -- oozing with charm and Southern hospitality."
Murfreesboro received a score of 601 and was noted to have "all of the big-city amenities and small-town charm," as well as "some of the best schools in the state, a booming economy and amazing access to the outdoors."
Knoxville received a score of 599 and was credited as "the perfect combination of natural beauty and big city amenities," noting that the city is "largely centered" around the University of Tennessee football and basketball seasons, but also several other activities to do around town.
