The coronavirus pandemic changed how we interact with the world, and how we have fun in it. In Miami, there are plenty of ways to get out and about the city while keeping some distance from other people. We found ten social distancing activities you can do in the Magic City.

Explore Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden

Fairchild has plenty of activities that provide social distancing. Not feeling like leaving home? Do a virtual tour through a rainforest. With a partner? Set up a date night in the gardens. Even though they are not running tram tours, you can take advantage with their one-way walking experience through the gardens with limited touch surfaces.

Visit Butterfly World

Want to spruce up your Instagram with butterflies? Drop by Coconut Creek to visit Butterfly World, which has been around for 32 years. As the name suggests, Butterfly World is home to many species of the elegant insect. They also have programs and plenty of exotic birds to hold your attention, too.

Hang out at Zoo Miami

A familiar spot, Zoo Miami has limited capacity to provide more space for guests during their visit. Staff have set up a one-way pathway for these attractions: Amazon and Beyond, Critter Connection and Florida: Mission Everglades. They are still offering VIP tours, animal feedings and tram tours on select weekends.

Relax at a county park

The Miami County Park District has provided a list of activities one can do while social distancing at any of their parks. You could have a picnic, fish without a license at ponds, go hiking, ride a bike, and much more.

Check out the Miami Design District

Deep pockets are not a requirement here. Instagram lovers will have a time exploring the art, fashion and architecture teeming in this area of the Magic City. There are other places to take advantage of, as well, such as galleries and free museums. You can also grab something to eat in the area and dine outside.

Plan Your Day At The Frost Museum of Science

The Frost Museum has some restrictions in place to maximize social distancing, including limited capacity and timed ticketing. Not only do they have plenty of space for you to walk around in, but they still have some fascinating attractions and programs to keep you hooked.

The Wynwood Walls is basically a free art museum outside. Stroll around the streets, and you will find blocks and blocks of impressive street art and fascinating murals to flood your social media with. Wynwood is also home to some amazing eateries and bars to grab a bite or drink.

Drop by the National Parks

Miami has two whole National Parks for all your recreational needs. You can take a boat out and go snorkeling at Biscayne National Park, for example. They recently reopened some areas in late September, too! You can explore Everglades National Park and take in nature in various ways: boat, bicycle, and tram (with limited capacity). This is just the tip of the iceberg of things you can do at these wonderful locations.

We have some exciting news to share! Beginning Saturday, September 26, Biscayne National Park will reopen the Dante...

Relax on the beach

There's plenty of beach for everyone. If you can create as much space between yourself and people, that shouldn't stop you from hitting the sands and water. Plus, you could get a couple friends or family members together for either games, food or other activities. And you have plenty options: Matheson Hammock, Biscayne Bay, Crandon Park, South Pointe, Bill Baggs and much more.

Hit the bike trail at Rickenbacker

Who's up for a nine-mile bike ride? The Rickenbacker Trail will take you from southern Miami and along the Causeway. On your path, you'll be treated to amazing views of Biscayne Bay and beaches. When you're done with the bike ride, there's plenty of other attractions and spots to have some fun.

The pandemic caused a lot of changes throughout the year, but at least there are accommodations to keep the fun times coming. Just don't leave your mask at home!
