During his summer off the road, country music star Brad Paisley has kept busy at his farm in Nashville, Tennessee. The "No I In Beer" singer appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday (October 6), where he revealed that he and his wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley have actually started rescuing donkeys.
"We have everything," Paisley said when asked what kind of animals he has at the farm. "At this point we are just adopting things left and right."
He added, "We are at this point actually running a donkey rescue, I think-- we've rescued a couple of donkeys."
Fans who've been following Paisley and Williams-Paisley on social media have likely seen several photos and videos of the animals. Williams-Paisley, especially, has shared several snapshots of herself with the adorable donkeys. See several Instagram posts below.
While he certainly misses in-person concerts, Paisley says that throughout the coronavirus pandemic it's "been an amazing thing to be home on the farm like this right now with these animals."
He adds, "It's different. I know everybody's finding new ways to do things around the house that they never thought they would."
Paisley was lucky enough to be one of the last performers to have a full-scale concert in North America right before the live music industry shut down in mid-March. He explained on Ellen that he was able to have one last show for his "2020 World Tour" in Canada after all other performances had been shut down.
"We started in [the] middle of March in Canada, and we were up in Saskatchewan the day after they shut down all of America," Paisley shares. "I feel like we got one past the goalie...Live Nation pulled all the North American tours off the road, except ours. 'Cause we were, like, four hours north of the border."
"It was really, really crazy to play one more show knowing everything else was shut down," he added. "And I was able to really soak it in with that audience. And I think we all knew, 'OK, this is it for a long time.'"
