2020 is the year of plot twists, so why would the ACM Awards be any different?

For the first time in ACM history, there was a tie for ACM ‘Entertainer of the Year.’ Thomas Rhett and Carrie Underwood are now “co-parenting” the pinnacle trophy and donning the coveted title.

After all, “sharing is caring.”

In a recent interview, Carrie was happy to drop in with Cody Alan to share her thoughts on the weird win.

“I mean it was just such a crazy year, so of course nothing can be normal! Of course, there is a twist!” laughs the “Cry Pretty” singer.

“First and foremost, I was super excited and super happy that my name was one of the names! I like to think of it as, every year, its always like, “Only one person can win.” “So-and-so had a great year, and this person had a great year, and this person works so hard!” and this year, there got to be two winners!”

While this was Carrie’s third ACM ‘Entertainer of the Year’ win, it was TR’s first time.

“I definitely don’t take any of it for granted. I was so proud of our tour last year and everything we were able to accomplish. It felt really good.”
